A procedure was described for preparing intact mitochondria from spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.) leaves. These mitochondria oxidized succinate, malate, pyruvate, Cyanide completely inhibited the oxidation of NADH. The oxidation of succinate, malate, and glycine was only partially inhibited.
