The mass spectrometry (MS) response represents the image current generated in the ion cyclotron resonance cell and could be arbitrarily expressed in charge units. See Supplemental Table S3 to compare with the abundances of a particular compound at other time points. Note that extrapolating concentration differences between compounds from their relative MS response is flawed due to the highly varying ionization and transfer efficiencies of compounds by MS.
