Test compounds were dissolved in LB medium containing 0.5% ethanol and 0.1% Tween 20. Serial dilutions were added to bacterial cultures suspended in 50 mm phosphate buffer or in 50 mmphosphate buffer containing 1 unit mL−1 myrosinase.
