Difference in the specific activity of enzymes in mitochondria from control and rotenone-treated cells

Aconitate hydratase (aconitase), NAD-ME, NAD- and NADP-dependent ICDH, PDC, and OGDC activities were measured on 25 to 50 μg of mitochondrial proteins. Mitochondria were isolated from cells at 16 h after treatment with methanol (0.25% [v/v]; control) or 40 μm rotenone in methanol (0.25% [v/v]). Asterisks indicate significant changes at P < 0.05 between mitochondrial activities from methanol- or rotenone-treated cells. Values are means ± se of data from four independent experiments.
