Monosaccharide composition of TFA hydrolysates of root cell walls was measured by alditol acetate derivatives (Blakeney et al., 1983). Two representative lines of each transgenic set were characterized. Values are means ± se of a representative determination on six individual plants per line. Values marked with different letters differ significantly from each other (P < 0.05).
